Dr. Samuel Sarpong,former Ashanti Regional Minister and a renowned Ghanaian politician, has joined President John Dramani Mahama to celebrate the first Akwasidae festival of the year with Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
This significant cultural event is celebrated by the Ashanti people to honor their ancestors and heritage.
The Akwasidae festival is a grand celebration that showcases the rich cultural traditions of the Ashanti people.
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the 16th Asantehene, has been instrumental in promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of the Ashanti kingdom .
President Mahama’s presence at the festival, along with Dr. Samuel Sarpong,together with Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah,National Chairman ,Chairman Nana Kwasi (Ashanti Regional Chairman) Dr Frank Amoakohene (Ashanti Regional Minister -designate), Mr Akwasi Ofori Agyemang Boadi(former Obuasi MCE) among others highlights the importance of Ghana’s cultural heritage and the need to preserve it for future generations.
The celebration is a testament to the strong cultural bonds that exist between the Ashanti people and their leaders.
