The CEO of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital ,Dr Otchere Addai Mensah has made a special appearance at the first Akwasidae festival of the year today at the Manhyia palace, a significant cultural event celebrated by the Ashanti people to honor their ancestors and heritage.
The Akwasidae festival is an important tradition in the Ashanti region, and this year’s celebration has seen several dignitaries in attendance, including a delegation from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by the National Chairman,Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah .
The event also witnessed dignitaries from the opposition New Patriotic Party and other political parties in the Country.
Dr. Otchere Addai Mensah is a renowned Ghanaian healthcare professional and academic who currently serves as the CEO of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). With a strong background in medicine and administration, Dr. Addai Mensah has been instrumental in transforming KATH into a world-class healthcare facility.
Since assuming office, Dr. Addai Mensah has implemented several initiatives aimed at improving patient care, staff welfare, and hospital infrastructure. Some notable achievements include:
Enhanced Patient Care,he introduced measures to reduce service interruptions, improved digital payment systems, and enhanced staff motivation .
His administration has increased staff allowances, reviewed staff medical packages, and promoted a positive work environment .

He oversaw the renovation of hospital facilities, including the “GEE” blocks, and secured funding for a state-of-the-art Catheterization Laboratory .
