Prominent figures in the country are urging President Mahama to appoint former Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, to a key position, citing his exceptional leadership skills and dedication to the country’s development. This endorsement comes after Dr. Sarpong’s remarkable efforts in promoting the Ashanti and Central regions’ agenda, including his role in presenting Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s developmental manifesto to President Mahama during the 2024 campaign period.
Dr. Sarpong’s strong ties with the Asantehene and his understanding of the region’s needs make him an ideal candidate for a key appointment.
His previous experience as Ashanti and Central Regional Minister has equipped him with the knowledge and expertise required to drive development in the region. President Mahama has already demonstrated his commitment to the Ashanti Region’s development, pledging to prioritize incomplete projects and initiate new ones.
Appointing Dr. Samuel Sarpong to a key position would be a strategic move, leveraging his expertise to fast-track the nation’s growth and development. It has been established that the NDC party in the Ashanti region recognizes Dr. Samuel Sarpong as a key figure, alongside Ambassador Nana Ohene Agyekum. The party’s recognition of Dr. Sarpong’s importance is notable, especially given the NDC’s efforts to increase its presence in the Ashanti Region.
In the 2024 elections, the party gained four additional constituencies, including Adansi Asokwa, Adansi Akrofuom, Ahafo Ano South East, and Obuasi East. This growth suggests that the NDC is making strides in the region, potentially paving the way for prominent figures like Dr. Sarpong to play a more significant role.
