Dunkwaw small scale miners association donates to Dunkwaw government hospital to fight COVID-19

 The Dunkwa Small Scale miners Association at Dunwa-Offin in the upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region has donated Personal Protective Equipment(PPEs) worth Ghc 40,000.00 to the Dunkwa Municipal Hospital. The equipment are Examination Gloves, Nose Mask, Methylated Spirit, Hand Sanitizers, Liquid Soaps, Veronica Buckets, Distilled Water and Tissue Paper. Speaking to the Media, the Vice Chairman of the Association, Mr Benjamin Annan said the reason for the donation is to equip the health officials with the necessary tools needed to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic. He used the opportunity to advised Ghanaians to adhere to the safety measures outlined by Government and Ghana Health Service. He urged citizens to wash their hands, observe social distance and use hand sanitizers. Meanwhile the Medical Director at the Dunkwa Municipal hospital Dr Abraham Martey who received the items thanked the Association for their kind gesture. He called on other Stakeholders, Non Government Organizations and individuals to come and support the hospital. He said the Dunkwa Municipal Hospital is one of the hospitals in the central region desingnated for isolation and management of Covid-19 cases, due to this the hospital need more Protective equipment to ensure the safety of it staff. Dr Martey added the hospital serve more than five Districts hence there is pressure on their facility.
