The Acting Director of Ghana Geological Survey Authority, Mr Isaac Mwimbelle has advised Ghanaians on false predictions of earthquakes from some naysayers.
According to Mr Isaac Mwimbelle earthquakes and tremors are natural disasters that no one can predict their occurrence in the country.
He made this known during the Authority’s sensitization workshop held for the media practitioners in the Ashanti Region on its mandate and activities on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
Mr Mwimbelle stated that the best safety precaution one can adhere to during an earthquake is to sleep flat under a table and hold your leg firmly in a room.
He again said that, it is not advisable for passengers or drivers to leave a car during earthquake occurrence.
The acting director of the Ghana Geological Survey Authority further highlighted their mandate to the media and advised media practitioners to always give accurate information without any blemish.
