The District Chief Executive for Offinso North , Hon. Caezar Ofosu Acheampong, has described investment in education as the most significant achievement of his administration within his first year in office.
Speaking during a town hall meeting held at the Akomadan–Afrancho Area Council, the DCE outlined a number of development projects undertaken by the Assembly across key sectors including education, health, sanitation and agriculture.
According to him, although the Assembly has implemented interventions in several sectors, education remains the area where the district has recorded the greatest impact.
“From May when I was confirmed as DCE till now, we have constructed and completed a lot of projects. The biggest achievement is in the education sector,” he stated.
Hon. Acheampong disclosed that the Assembly has completed a 12-unit classroom block at Akomadan Senior High School, as well as 3-unit classroom blocks at Nkenkaasu, Akomadan Presby JHS and other communities within the district.
He added that another 12-unit classroom block has also been completed at Wiafe Akenten Senior High School to improve teaching and learning conditions for students and teachers.
The DCE noted that the completed projects form part of a broader development agenda aimed at improving educational infrastructure and enhancing quality education delivery across the district.
“These are not the only projects — work is still ongoing on others to improve the development of the district,” he added.
Hon. Acheampong further appealed to traditional authorities and residents to support the Assembly’s revenue mobilization efforts to strengthen the district’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF).
He explained that increased local revenue would enable the Assembly to undertake more developmental projects and address pressing challenges confronting the district, including staff shortages.
The DCE also expressed appreciation to Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him through his unanimous confirmation and appealed for their continued support and collaboration to advance the development agenda of the district.
The town hall meeting formed part of efforts by the Assembly to promote accountability, transparency and citizen participation in local governance.
