The family of the late Mrs. Juliana Nkrumah, affectionately known as Ataa Maame, has announced funeral arrangements to honour her memory following her death in 2026.
Mrs. Nkrumah, who was born in 1966, is being mourned by her family, friends, sympathisers and loved ones, who described her passing as a painful loss to the family.
The funeral rites have been scheduled for Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, 2026, in Kumasi.
According to the funeral announcement, the body will be laid in state on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Ahinsan Primary School Park, Kumasi, from 4:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
A burial service will subsequently be held by the ITM Christ Ambassadors Church at the Ahinsan Primary School Park.
The late Mrs. Nkrumah will then be buried at the Adjukrom Cemetery in the Eastern Region.
The final funeral rites will later be held at the Ahinsan Primary School Park in Kumasi from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the same day.
SUNDAY THANKSGIVING.
On Sunday, October 4, 2026, mourners and sympathisers will gather for a Thanksgiving Service at the ITM Christ Ambassadors Church, Susanso, off the KNUST Road, Kumasi.
A family gathering will also be held at the Ahinsan Primary School Park from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Mrs. Nkrumah is survived by her children, including Gideon Opoku Nkrumah, Hannah Opoku Nkrumah, Alexander Opoku (Cape Coast), Dorothy Opoku (Kumasi), Michael Opoku Senior (Accra) and Michael Opoku Junior (Kumasi), as well as seven grandchildren.
She is also survived by her widower, Mr. Adasa Nkrumah of Consar Company Limited, Kumasi, and a number of brothers and sisters, relatives and loved ones.
The bereaved family has extended an invitation to friends, sympathisers and well-wishers to join them as they celebrate the life of their beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister and relative.
As the family prepares to give Mrs. Juliana Nkrumah her final farewell, relatives and sympathisers are expected to converge in Kumasi to mourn with the family and celebrate the life and legacy of a woman affectionately remembered as Ataa Maame.
