George Akom, the 2024 NPP parliamentary candidate for Sekyere Afram Plains in the Ashanti Region, as a guest speaker at the 25th anniversary celebration of the Kakyire Foundation at Nyebrehe in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality has indicated that it is about time we need to encourage resilience and humanity .
The event coincided with Mr Akom’s 25 years of media work as a broadcast journalist.
In his speech, Mr Akom emphasized the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity. He noted that as individuals grow and expand their social horizons, they encounter various relationships and experiences that shape their understanding of the world.
Mr Akom encouraged his audience to stay focused on their goals and pursue their dreams, even when faced with gossip, hate, envy, and resistance.
He however urged his audience not to be discouraged by negative experiences, but instead to move forward and work towards achieving their vision.
Mr Akom encouraged individuals, philanthropists, and groups to support humanitarian causes within their means.
Mr Akom quoted Amit Kalantri, saying, “Gossip dies when it hits a wise person’s ears. Rumours are started by haters, carried by fools, and believed by idiots”.
The event provided an opportunity for Mr Akom to interact with people from various backgrounds, and new friendships were formed.
