Kofi Adu Domfeh Elected Ashanti Regional GJA Chairperson

Mr Kofi Adu Domfeh, a Senior News Editor at The Multimedia Group’s Kumasi unit, has been elected as the new Ashanti Regional Chairperson of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).

Mr Domfeh won the election with 16 votes, narrowly beating his opponent who garnered 15 votes.

In his campaign, Domfeh outlined a three-point vision focused on:

– Professional Integrity: Promoting ethical journalism practices and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.

– Dignity in Ethical Practice: Upholding the dignity of the journalism profession and ensuring that journalists adhere to ethical standards.
– Accountability: Ensuring accountability within the media fraternity and promoting transparency in journalistic practices.

After his election,Mr Domfeh expressed gratitude to his colleagues for the trust they had placed in him.

He promised to work tirelessly to uplift the standards of journalism in the region and prioritize the welfare of every journalist. “I am humbled by the support and trust. Together, we will raise the bar of professionalism, protect the integrity of our work, and ensure the welfare of every journalist is prioritized,” he said.

Mr Domfeh will serve alongside other elected executives, including:

– Nicholas Osei-Wusu (GBC) as Regional Vice President
– Beatrice Spio Gabbrah (Media General) as General Secretary
– Dr. Neta Kris Abiana Pasram as Treasurer

Mr Domfeh’s election has been widely welcomed by journalists and stakeholders in the region, with many expressing optimism about the future of the GJA under his leadership. The election was part of a nationwide exercise by the GJA to elect new leaders at both national and regional levels.
