Ghana Revenue Authority (G.R.A) have revealed that the implementation of the national identification card (Ghana Card) has really helped to uncover many tax invaders.
The Ashanti Regional Area Manager of G.R.A, Mr. Samuel Sakyi Duodu, who confirmed this to to newsmen reiterated that they will always go after the tax invader companies.
“Previously we were using TIN to check on taxes and the number of payers were few but now that we are using the Ghana Card, we have seen that there many people and companies who invade taxes and shall surely go after them”. He added.
Mr Duodu revealed this when they presented the highest tax payer in 2020 award plaque to, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, the CEO of Angel group of companies.
In response to that, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, expressed his profound gratitude to the Ghana Revenue Authority giving him the award and other way encouraging him to pay tax.
“Few days ago rumours went round that I am a tax invader; But my brother it is never and will never be true”. Dr. Oteng added.
