The U.S. Embassy in Ghana has congratulated the people of Ghana for successfully conducting the 2024 elections, which it described as a true reflection of the will of the Ghanaian people.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the Embassy underscored the importance of the democratic process and expressed its anticipation of continuing its strong partnership with Ghana under President-elect John Dramani Mahama.
“Congratulations to all Ghanaians on a successful election that reflects the will of the Ghanaian people. The United States looks forward to continuing our strong partnership under @JDMahama,” the post read.
The U.S. Embassy also commended all the candidates who participated in the election, highlighting their commitment to a peaceful electoral process and the smooth transfer of power.
This sentiment was echoed in the concession speech delivered by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, which received widespread praise for its grace and commitment to national unity.
“We commend all of the candidates that stood for election this cycle and their commitment to peaceful elections and the transfer of power as so eloquently expressed in Vice President @MBawumia’s concession speech,” the post continued.
The US Embassy reaffirmed its support for the people of Ghana and their belief in the power of democracy, emphasising that #DemocracyDelivers.
“We stand with the people of Ghana and their belief in the power of the people and that #DemocracyDelivers,” the post added.
