Hon.Christian Adu Poku,DCE for Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti region has made it clear that his assembly does not rely on machomen in discharging their normal duties but taskforce .
In a publication carried out by this online portal last Sunday,it was indicated that the said DCE chased Deaconess Esther Boakye Duah, gospel musician, popularly known as MAMA ESTHER with Machomen not long ago.
It further stated ,the action of the DCE was materialized when Mama Esther was forcefully pressured to vacate from her 30 years acquired house at Atimatim-Chairman in the district within 3 bad days but resisted.
Setting the records straight yesterday at his office,Hon.Christian Adu Poku indicated his team went to Mama Esther’s house, spoke to her and explained things further about the need for her to support the assembly by paving way for the reconstruction of a gutter in front of her bulding at Atimatim -chairman before the construction of the Chairman-Junction to Kokooano road could be constructed.
“I was in Accra by then when the assembly’s taskforce went on mission at Mama Esther’s house so anything that went on between Mama Esther and the taskforce is news to me.Things wouldn’t have gone the way it went if I was part of the team that day ,but all the same,I can assure you that Mama Esther’s building won’t be demolished .”The DCE announced.
“I also learned from the publication that Mama Esther’s refusal to vacate from her own apartment gingered the me(DCE) to send my Machomen to demolish the said building at ‘Chairman’ after she went to the Assembly with her site plan and allocation paper.
Let me tell you that ,all these never happened.No machomen were dispatched to her house,let alone for demolishing.
Hon.APC, affectionately called, said,the construction of the chairman junction to Kokooano road is not for the destruction of people’s property but for development of the entire community.
Every community needs development and by so doing one or two people may be affected,so the Kwabre South District Assembly is not there for destruction but for development and the well-being of it’s members.
“Let Mama Esther understand that due diligence has been made on the road and her building is safe and the road would be constructed in no time so she should relax and see the assembly performing it’s mandated duty’.he concluded.
