Historic Enstoolment: Mrs. Matilda Ansah Becomes First Apagyahemaa of Akuapem Larteh Kubease

In a grand ceremony held at the Akuapem Larteh Kubease Palace, Mrs. Matilda Ansah, a Ghanaian based in the United States of America, was enstooled as the first Apagyahemaa of Akuapem Larteh Kubease.

The occasion was marked with traditional pomp and splendor, as the newly enstooled queen mother was adorned in a black cloth and sworn in amidst the playing of “Fontonfrom” and other traditional drums.

A New Era for Akuapem Larteh Kubease.

Mrs. Ansah, a specialist at the Greystone Psychiatric Hospital in the USA, was given the stool name Nana Afua Amanorwaa I. Her enstoolment marks a significant milestone in the history of Akuapem Larteh Kubease, as she becomes the first queen mother to hold this esteemed position. The Chief of Akuapem Larteh Kubease, Nana Otu Acheampong Agyemfra VI, charged Nana Afua Amanorwaa I to uphold the traditions and customs of the people and to be guided by the wisdom of her elders.
