The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sadik, has called on Ghanaians to translate prayer into responsible action by embracing integrity, patriotism and hard work to support the country’s national development agenda.

The DCE made the call when he joined the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, and fellow Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) from Kwadaso, Tafo and Afigya Kwabre South at the Ashanti Regional observance of the Second National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving in Kumasi today.

Held at the Yaa Asantewaa Lounge of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, the interfaith service brought together Christian and Muslim leaders, government officials and hundreds of worshippers to offer prayers for Ghana’s peace, unity, stability and economic transformation.
The programme, on the theme “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want,” underscored the need for moral renewal, accountable leadership and national cohesion as essential pillars for sustainable development.
Speaking after the event, Hon. Abubakar Sadik described the gathering as a reflection of Ghana’s enduring religious harmony and a demonstration of the collective commitment of citizens to the nation’s progress.
He said while prayer remained an important foundation for national development, it must be complemented by discipline, honesty, accountability and dedicated service to the country.
The DCE urged citizens to support the government’s reset agenda by upholding values that promote peaceful coexistence, transparency and national unity.
Delivering the sermon, Apostle Johannes Vegba called on Ghanaians, particularly public office holders, to demonstrate integrity, loyalty and selfless leadership, stressing that lasting national transformation could only be achieved through exemplary leadership and responsible citizenship.
Addressing the congregation, Dr. Frank Amoakohene expressed gratitude to God for His continued blessings upon the country and called on Ghanaians to unite behind the government’s development agenda.
He expressed optimism that through collective effort, sound leadership and divine guidance, the nation would overcome challenges, including flooding and other socio-economic difficulties confronting communities.
The service concluded with special prayers for President John Dramani Mahama, the government, traditional authorities, the security services and the continued peace, stability and prosperity of the country.
