A morning show host with Adehyeɛ FM in Kumasi, Prince Ofori Atta, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the party’s upcoming 2026 internal elections.
The aspiring regional executive, who is campaigning under the banner “POA2026,” has adopted the campaign themes “Service Above All” and “Changing the Narratives,” which he says reflect his commitment to strengthening the party’s structures and enhancing its electoral fortunes in the Ashanti Region.
Mr. Ofori Atta said his decision to seek office was inspired by the need to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the NDC through effective administration, improved communication and stronger grassroots mobilisation.
According to him, the Deputy Regional Secretary’s office must play a more proactive role in coordinating party activities, supporting constituency and branch executives, and ensuring that the party’s organisational machinery functions efficiently throughout the region.
He explained that his vision is centred on rebuilding confidence among party faithful, promoting unity within the rank and file, and creating stronger links between the regional secretariat and the grassroots.
Mr. Ofori Atta also pledged to champion programmes that would deepen youth participation in party activities, strengthen political education and improve communication between the regional leadership and the party’s various structures across the Ashanti Region.
He believes a well-organised and united regional executive would be better positioned to consolidate the party’s gains and improve its electoral performance ahead of the 2028 general election.
The campaign team indicated that, in the coming weeks, the aspirant would embark on extensive consultations with branch executives, constituency officers, opinion leaders and delegates across the region to present his vision and solicit their support.
The team added that the campaign would focus on inclusiveness, service and organisational renewal, stressing that the objective was to strengthen the party from the grassroots upward.
Although the NDC is yet to announce the official timetable for its regional executive elections, political activities have begun to gather momentum across the country as prospective candidates engage delegates and stakeholders.
The Deputy Regional Secretary is one of the key administrative officers of the party at the regional level, assisting the Regional Secretary in coordinating meetings, implementing decisions of the regional executive committee, maintaining party records and supervising organisational activities.
Mr. Ofori Atta’s declaration adds to the growing number of aspirants positioning themselves for various regional executive offices as the NDC prepares to elect new leaders to steer the party’s affairs and consolidate its structures ahead of future national elections.
