The Metropolitan Chief Executive Officer (MCE) for Kumasi, Mr. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, also known as King Zubah, has advised students at senior high schools to make good use of their time to guarantee a better future.
According to him, students should not wait until their final examination before taking their studies seriously; instead, they should approach their studies with diligence and dedication, as if their whole lives depend on education.
The Mayor made this call during a monitoring exercise at various senior high schools in the metropolis, aimed at minimizing the incidence of examination malpractice.
He was accompanied by Mr. David Oppong, the Metropolitan Director of Education, and the Metropolitan Coordinating Director.
The monitoring exercise covered schools such as Kumasi Girls Senior High School, Islamic Senior High School, and Anglican Senior High School.
Mr. Agyemang Boadi expressed his expectation that students in Kumasi would perform well and take the lead in education at the second-cycle level. He noted that the candidates were doing well and appeared composed, which he believed would translate to good results.
The Mayor’s advice emphasizes the importance of education in shaping the future of students. By taking their studies seriously, students can set themselves up for success and achieve their aspirations. The monitoring exercise also highlights the commitment of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
Mr. David Oppong, the Metropolitan Director of Education, urged parents to take a keen interest in their wards’ education, stressing that it is the only legacy they can leave them.
He emphasized that education is the key to success in life and that parents should always encourage their wards to study at their school-going age to become responsible adults in society and contribute to the welfare of their families and the socioeconomic development of the country.
