Late-Night Eating Is a Slow Poison – PIWAK CEO Warns

The Chief Executive Officer of PIWAK Natural Health, Dr Prince Nelson Motorti, has issued a strong caution against the growing habit of eating late at night, describing it as “a slow poison” that could silently undermine the health and longevity of many individuals.

Dr Motorti, who heads PIWAK Natural Health — producers of the popular 3P Garlic Mixture — made this known in an interview with The Punch over the weekend.

According to him, the consistent practice of consuming heavy meals late into the night poses serious health risks that many people often overlook.

“Late-night eating may look harmless, but over time it becomes a silent destroyer of the body,” he stressed. “When people eat and immediately go to bed, the body does not get the opportunity to properly digest the food. This places unnecessary stress on vital organs, particularly the stomach, liver and heart.”

He explained that the human body is naturally designed to slow down at night, with metabolic processes gradually reducing as the body prepares for rest.

Eating at that critical period, he said, disrupts the body’s natural rhythm, potentially leading to weight gain, indigestion, acid reflux, high blood pressure and other chronic health conditions.
Dr Motorti noted that while many people focus on what they eat, they often neglect when they eat — a factor he believes is equally important in maintaining good health.

“It is not only about consuming healthy foods; timing matters,” he emphasized. “Even the most nutritious meal can become harmful if taken at the wrong time and in excess.”

The health advocate urged the public to adopt disciplined eating habits, recommending that individuals take their last meal at least two to three hours before bedtime to allow proper digestion. He further encouraged regular physical activity and adequate hydration as part of a holistic approach to healthy living.

Touching on natural remedies and preventive healthcare, Dr Motorti highlighted the benefits of the 3P Garlic Mixture produced by PIWAK Natural Health. He stated that the product, formulated from natural ingredients with garlic as a key component, supports the immune system, improves blood circulation and contributes to overall vitality.

“Our 3P Garlic Mixture is designed to support longevity and general well-being,” he said. “However, no product can fully compensate for poor lifestyle choices. If people continue to engage in unhealthy eating habits, especially late-night eating, they undermine the benefits of any health supplement.”

Dr Motorti therefore called on families, corporate institutions and the media to intensify public education on healthy lifestyle practices, stressing that prevention remains far better and cheaper than cure.

“As a nation, we must prioritize preventive healthcare. Simple habits such as eating early, resting well and consuming natural health products can significantly reduce hospital visits and improve quality of life,” he added.
His remarks come at a time when changing work schedules, social lifestyles and increased nighttime activities have made late eating a common practice among many Ghanaians.

Dr Motorti concluded with a passionate appeal: “Your health is your greatest wealth. Let us not destroy it slowly with habits that we can easily correct.”

The warning serves as a timely reminder that while modern life may demand flexibility, maintaining disciplined eating patterns remains essential for long-term health and longevity.
