The member of parliament for Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon.Adelaide Yaa Ntim has presented a statement on the floor of parliament appealing to parents, government authorities and other Stakeholders to fight against teenage pregnancy in our various societies ,especially the girl child at school going age.
According to the lawmaker ,most of the female candidates who sat for this year’s BECE exams were either pregnant or nursing mothers and this , according to her can prevent them not to pursue their education further after the BECE.
She stated that some of the innocent young girls are victims of rape who can be infected with Sexually Transmitted disease.
She used the platform and called on our law enforcement agencies to strictly apply the laws without fear or favor to anyone who defiles or rape a teenager in this country.
