Some Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs) and staff of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) have accused Alhaji Seidu Agongo, the founder and Chairman of Class Media Group (CMG), of inciting some union members and disgruntled LMCs to wage a media war against the NLA’s operations, particularly its relationship with KGL Group.

Alleged Lobbying for NLA Board Chairmanship.

According to sources close to Alhaji Seidu Agongo, he has been lobbying for the Board Chairmanship of NLA and a contract to take over the operations of KGL Technology Limited at the NLA. This alleged selfish desire has led to a strategy of discrediting the KGL contract and casting doubt on the revenues enjoyed by NLA from the contract.

Formation of “Better Ghana Alliance”
Recently, Alhaji Seidu Agongo allegedly tasked Mr. Kwaku Antwi Boadu, a dismissed interim National Organizer of the National Lotto Marketing Companies Association (NALMCA), to form a group known as “Better Ghana Alliance” with the sole objective of attacking the KGL Group-NLA contract in the media space.

Rejection by LMCs and Staff.

However, when some LMCs and staff were approached by Alhaji Seidu Agongo for their support in the fight against the KGL-NLA contract, they declined to provide him with such support. Many have questioned why Alhaji Seidu Agongo would pursue such an agenda against KGL, a company that is delivering substantial revenue to the Authority at no cost and risk to the Authority.

Alleged Threats Against NLA Director-General.

The Director-General of NLA has allegedly been threatened several times by Alhaji Seidu Agongo over the contract between KGL and NLA, despite not being appointed as the Board Chairman of NLA.

Legal Implications.

It is worth noting that tempering with the KGL-NLA contract may be practically impossible, financially suicidal, and legally costly. Many are questioning how John Mahama could appoint Alhaji Seidu Agongo as Chairman of NLA with such an alleged vindictive mentality.

The allegations against Alhaji Seidu Agongo raise concerns about his alleged motives and the potential consequences of his actions. The NLA and its stakeholders will be watching closely to see how this situation unfolds.
