The Eastern Regional Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Evans Osei Yeboah popularly known as ‘Tsooboi’ has said that losing Assin North By-election is a beigest lesson to their party.

According to him, the party lost the Assin North by-election as a result of some minor errors made by the party.

Mr Evans Osei indicated the leaders from the national and regional level must assess the weakness of the party to enable them to come out with tactics to win the 2024 general elections adding that there are many factors that have contributed to the defeat of the party.

“President Akufo Addo won at Assin North during the 2020 general elections, but our votes reduced drastically at the Assin North By-election,’’ Mr Evans Osei said.

Mr Evans Osei revealed that the leaders of the party will go back to the drawing board to review their tactics ahead of election 2024.

He continued that there is a need for the leaders of the party to assess their defeat in the Assin North by-election starting from the polling stations and activities run by the party.

In an interview with Nhyiraba Nartey Solomon of Bryt FM, Mr Evans Osei explained that the propaganda by the National Democratic Congress was also a source of their defeat in the recent Assin North by-election the country observed.

He affirmed that the NDC convinced the electorates with the LGBTQ+ bill during their campaign.

However, the Eastern Regional Director of Communications applauded the NDC for winning Assin North by-election adding that the Hon James Gyakye Quayson swearing-in as a Member of Parliament has demonstrated the higher strength of the country’s democracy.

Mr Evans Osei emphasised the democracy of the country is emerging after the country has observed a smooth and peaceful by-election.
