Against the backdrop of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) having previously manufactured an automobile called Boafo, and against the backdrop of Kumasi Magazine mechanics having manufactured an automobile engine, Ken Ohene Agyapong has vowed to mobilize the two entities to collaborate to manufacture tractors in Ashanti Region to power his agriculture industrialization agenda.

The leading NPP Presidential aspirant made this promise while delivering a powerful speech to climax Kumasi’s version of the Showdown Walk which attracted a massive crowd converging on the grounds of the Prempeh Assembly Hall.

Touching further on agriculture and agro-processing in general, the Assin Central MP promised to add value to every raw material harvested in the Agric mechanization program.

Ken Ohene Agyapong reiterated hi promise to transform the five northern regions and the Afram Plains into a bastion of massive agriculture and agro-processing to produce enough jobs to attract job seekers from the southern part of the country.

Agyapong jabbed his chief opponent, Vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for failing to use his position to provide transformational leadership for development in the northern part instead of using tribal arguments to seek the presidency.

“Why haven’t northern politicians invited investors to the northern regions to invest in factories to add value to Shea nuts that grow freely in the northern region,” Agyapong asked rhetorically.

The second version of the Showdown Walk occured in Kumasi today and attracted a much larger crowd than its Accra counterpart, bringing the Garden City into a standstill.
