137
It is evident that Aowin Municipal Assembly in the Western North region under the watch of Hon.Samuel Adu Gyamfi has seen tremendous improvement in barely five years as the Municipal Chief Executive of the area.
His hardwork, dedication , selflessness, commitment and quality leadership skills has fetched him numerous awards.
The most outstanding one was the BEST MCE AWARD he received Nationwide by Pan African Heroes Foundation in Accra.
President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo never made a mistake for his appointment.
As concerned Youth ,we have heard a whole lot of mischievous and propagandist reportage in the media fraternity by one Vincent Yeboah ,claiming our MCE has done nothing.
We are by this statement telling the general public that the said report on Akoma fm in Kumasi lack credibility and needs to be treated with an mediate contempt it deserves.
Mr.Adu Gyamfi’s  reappointment as the Aowin MCE would be a blessing to the people of Aowin and it’s environment.
The municipality has achieved alot of successes under the leadership of Samuel Adu Gyamfi  despite it’s challenges.
As part of efforts by the Nana Addo led Administration to ensure transparency and accountability in the governance process at both the national and local levels, Government through the Ministry of Information since 2017 has been organizing the ‘Meet-the-Press’ Series and Town Hall Meetings throughout the country to showcase the good work it had done in the previous years.
Mr.Adu Gyamfi has organized series of  Town Hall Meetings  aimed at educating the general public on Government Flagship Programmes and key Government Programmes and Projects being implemented across the Municipality.
Pursuant to this, the Aowin Municipal Assembly since his  assumption of office in 2017 has remained committed to it noble dream.
It is clear that ,a total of forty-two (42) Development Projects together with other Programmes initiated by the Aowin Municipal Assembly and Central Government are currently on-going in the Municipality and are at various stages of completion, some already completed.
Speaking to Mr.Adu Gyamfi,he opined  that,a lot has taken place in the Municipality since their last meeting in 2019.
“As you may be aware, I was adjudged the best MMDCE in the Akufo-Addo Administration in the country in the year ,2019.
Whatever criteria that was used, what it means is that, I was the best among the 260 MMDCEs in the country in 2019. I dedicate the award to the glory of God and the chiefs and good people of the Municipality. It was won through the collective efforts of all of us”. He announced.
He stressed that,at the last Meet-the-Press Session in October last year, he indicated that the Aowin Municipality was to get the Regional Feeder Roads Office and two Apartments to accommodate officials of the Department.
He  happily announced that the contract for the construction of the projects has been awarded and the Contractor has moved to site and work has started and is progressing steadily.
“Additionally, as you are already aware, Government as part of efforts to ensure an effective Emergency Medical Service System last month released the 307 new ambulances purchased in 2019 under the ‘One Constituency, One Ambulance Initiative’ to the Ministry of Health for distribution to the 275 constituencies across the country. The ambulances are fitted with advanced life support and tracking devices to enable them function effectively and efficiently.
Under his watch an  ambulance was delivered to the Municipality by the government .
Presently, the Assembly is working round the clock to get an office for the Team of Emergency Medical Technicians who are currently undergoing training to be posted to the Aowin Constituency Station of the National Ambulance Service.
Touching on the Government Scholarship Scheme which was introduced by the N.P.P Government in 2018,he said,Sixty-nine (69) youth from the Municipality in various Tertiary Institutions in the country are presently benefitting under the scheme for the 2019/2020 academic year.
‘I wish to inform you that with effect from next academic year, applications under the Programme will be done on-line. Applicants will also be made to take an Aptitude Test on-line after which successful applicants will be invited for interview. Students in the Municipality should therefore brace yourselves for the new mode of application.’he added.
Through his efforts, Government is making sure to the construction of  the Mile ‘4’ to Ellubo Road.
As we are aware, H.E the President declared last  year a ‘Year of Roads’. This means that there were massive Road Construction in the country last  year. You all know the record of the N.P.P. when it comes to road construction in Aowin.
His lobbying skills  awarded the construction of the Mile  ‘4’  to Ellubo road to a Chinese Construction Company.
Base on the afforementioned development it would be prudent for the president of the republic to renew his appointment as the MCE for Aowin.
