The Chief of Moshie Zongo in the Ashanti Region , Alhaji Amadu Ibrahim Janda, has made a passionate appeal to parents in the various Zongo communities to inculcate fellow feelings and good moral behaviors into their wards to build a prosperous society.
Speaking at a grand durbar to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his enrollment as the Chief of Moshie Zongo, he emphasized that parents must stop cursing their wards and instead guide and strengthen them with fervent prayers to become responsible adults.
According to Chief Janda, when children are properly trained or brought up, parents would have peace of mind to live, and the socioeconomic development of the country would also flourish. He urged parents to take an active role in shaping the future of their children and building a better society.
The Chairman of the Moshie Zongo Development Fund, Yusif Abubakar, highlighted the organization’s efforts in promoting education and reducing social vices in the community. The fund has enrolled apprentices in seamstress and carpentry, provided education for street kids, and partnered with organizations to support the community.
The development fund has also collaborated with the Ghana Police Service and volunteer units to identify hotspots and concentrate on trouble areas.
Mr. Abubakar emphasized that significant impact has been made so far, and continuous support from the security agencies would help advance the successes achieved.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Old Tafo, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq, commended the chief for his efforts in promoting a better society.
He urged parents to support the chief’s initiative and work together to address issues such as illegal drug usage and lack of education. He also called for the establishment of a rehabilitation center for those affected by substance abuse .
