The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has reaffirmed her commitment to improving education in the constituency through sustained investment in teachers and schools under her White for Education Initiative.

According to the MP, the initiative, which began three years ago before her election to Parliament, provides GH¢76,200 every month to support teachers across the constituency.

She explained that the programme was established out of her conviction that quality education remains the foundation of national development and that empowering teachers is essential to building a brighter future for Ghanaian children.

Data released under the initiative indicates that more than GH¢2,743,200 has so far been invested in education, with 138 teachers receiving monthly financial support.
The programme has also benefited 8,829 students and supported 39 schools spread across more than 35 communities in Amenfi Central.

Several teachers, including Vida Kyei, Francis Baah, Elijah Quayson, Badu Monica, Patience Ayeh, Obeng Richard, Lydia Sonful and Ameyaw Joseph, are among the beneficiaries of the monthly assistance, alongside over 130 other teachers.

The initiative has also extended support to schools in communities such as Chichiso, Akunkwanta, Amuni, Agona Camp, Anyinabrem, Bantoma, Akyemkrom and Nyamebekyere, among others.

Hon. Gyan Cudjoe stressed that education should not be viewed through the lens of politics but as a long-term investment in the nation’s future.

“Education is not about politics; education is about the future. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and become a leader tomorrow,” she stated.

She described the White for Education Initiative as more than a social intervention, saying it represents a commitment to teachers, an investment in children and a promise to secure a better future for generations to come.

The initiative continues to receive attention for its focus on teacher welfare and educational development, reflecting ongoing efforts to strengthen learning outcomes and improve access to quality education in Amenfi Central.
