MTN-Ghana Cautions Customers To Beware Of Fraudsters

The leading mobile telecommunication network in Ghana, MTN, has warned the general public to be mindful about fraudsters in the country.   Speaking at a colourful mobile money event to award customers with cars, television sets and cash prizes at its  Kejetia  branch in  Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital yesterday, Nii Adotey Mingle, General Manager of MTN Northern Business District, said, their frequent education on Fraudsters  is going down well with customers but said customers still need to do more to ensure that they are not tricked by fraudsters.    He further advised them to always visit MTN office whenever they get text messages or calls from strange numbers for winning any promotions.    He made it clear that the giant mobile telecommunication network in Ghana (MTN) make no demands from customers when they win promotions .    Nill Mingle noted that the company does not attach strings to any prizes or awards they give out to their loyal customers or clients.   Alerting the public to be mindful about fraudsters who take delight in exploiting people by using dubious ways such as the announcement of prizes to mobile phone users.   He said, MTN-Ghana only rely on a dedicated number (0244300000)during all announcements on awards and prizes to and customers who partake in the company’s numerous promotional ventures.    ‘’We at MTN do not take delight in making demands on our customers when they win awards or prizes when they participate in our numerous promotional events and draws. This is why we only call winners with a dedicated line, 0244-300-000 and it is to ensure that winners redeem their prizes without any sweat’’, the General Manager intimated.    Mr. Jones Dwomoh, Alhaji Abdullai and Hafiz Nuhu drove home with three I10 Hyundai cars respectively .  Others such as Rosaline Teye and Adam Abdullai took home electronic cash of GHC 2,000 cedis each.   Madam Vivian Sarfo, a businesswoman also took home a 49-inch flat-screen television set.
