Kofi Job Construction Limited, a prominent road construction company in Ghana, is embroiled in a controversy surrounding unpaid dues from the previous government.

According to Mr. Akwasi Yeboah, a staff member of the company, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, led by former President Akufo-Addo, owes Kofi Job Construction Limited a staggering $200 million for completed road projects across the country, particularly in the Ashanti region .

According to him, despite completing various road projects, Kofi Job Construction Limited was not paid for their work whilst the government was able to pay other contractors.

Mr. Yeboah claims that this was due to the government’s assumption that Kofi Job would use the funds to support President John Dramani Mahama’s 2024 election bid.

The affected constituencies include Bosomtwi, Nhyiaeso, Bantama, Afigya Kwabre South, Juaben, Kwabre East, Amansie South, and Atwima Kwanwoma.

Impact on Projects.

The non-payment of dues has significantly impacted Kofi Job Construction Limited’s activities, forcing them to abandon several projects.

The company’s financial struggles have also affected the completion of roads in the Ashanti region. In some cases, residents have taken to the streets to protest the poor state of the roads and the company’s apparent abandonment of projects .

Appeal for Payment.

Mr. Yeboah speaking to journalists during a tour of the project sites appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to consider paying Kofi Job Construction Limited for the work done to help the company complete the abandoned projects.
