Osei Assibey Antwi’s Transformational Leadership at National Service Authority Commended

Nana Kofi Boakye, 2022/2023 Vice President of the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) for Ayawaso West, has paid tribute to Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, the immediate past Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA).

Nana Kofi Boakye commended Hon Osei Assibey Antwi for his outstanding and visionary leadership, which has left a lasting legacy on the Authority and the youth of Ghana.

During his tenure, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi introduced impactful reforms that repositioned the NSA as a catalyst for national development and youth empowerment. Some of his notable achievements include:

– Digital transformation: Antwi oversaw the introduction of the Metric App, which streamlined identity card generation, billing systems, and the administration of Internally Generated Funds (IGF). The integration of the Ghana Card for biometric identification of national service personnel was also a significant milestone.
– Legislative milestone: He successfully spearheaded the passage of the National Service Act, 2022 (Act 1119), which transitioned the National Service Scheme into a fully-fledged National Service Authority.
– Youth empowerment through agriculture: Antwi launched the Sekyere Kumawu Economic Enclave Project (SKEEP), aimed at equipping youth with modern agricultural skills. He also partnered with the Jospong Group to provide practical training in agribusiness for over 200 service personnel.
– Strategic partnerships and international exposure: Antwi facilitated scholarships for 120 service personnel to pursue further studies in Russia, through collaboration with Zoomlion Ghana Limited.
– Enhanced welfare and skills development: He increased service personnel allowances and prioritized pedagogical training, enabling personnel posted to schools to acquire essential teaching skills.

Nana Kofi Boakye praised Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi’s leadership style, which was grounded in compassion, inclusion, and forward-thinking governance. Antwi’s consistent engagement with stakeholders and youth-centered initiatives set a new benchmark for public service excellence.

As Mr. Gyamfi Felix takes over the leadership of the NSA, Nana Kofi Boakye urged him to build upon the solid foundation laid by his predecessor. The NASPA Vice President emphasized the importance of maintaining and expanding the legacy of Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, ensuring the National Service Authority remains a vital pillar of national development.

Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi’s tenure stands as a model of visionary leadership, blending innovation with purpose and passion. His reforms have empowered thousands of young Ghanaians, strengthened national institutions, and created a lasting impact across multiple sectors.
