Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, former minister for Trade and Industry has visited the Manhyia Palace to officially inform Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene of his intention to contest as the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming presidential primaries of the party.
At the Palace today,Hon. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen commended Otumfuo for his support and prayers for him in his tenure as the Trade and Industry Minister, which he never disappointed the Asantehene on the past six years as minister.
According to him, since his resignation as the minister, he shared his intention with the Ghanaian public and has seen it prudent to come onto the feet of Otumfuo to formerly informed him as ask for his blessing and directions.
He stated that, during his term as the minister he has done a lot at the ministry which include the One District One Factory and African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA) headquarter located the headquarters in Ghana, which Ghanaias would reap the fruits in the near future.
According to him about two hundred and ninety six (296) factories are on course while Ashanti region have about forty seven (47) factories others completed while some at various stages of completion, while Youth Industrial City zone is yet to be establish at Ejisu in the Ashanti region.
Mr Kyerematen stressed that,when being endorsed by Otumfuo and the NPP he would not disappoint Manhyia and Ghana as a whole, but would continue the good works done by his father Dr. Kyerematen and his forefathers in the development of Ashanti.
Otumfuo Osei II, Asantehene, pray God’s blessings and support for Mr. Alan Kyerematen and advice him to embark on clean campaign devoid of abusive words against the other contestants, says he has God and the Golden Stool, which he said would use to support and pray for Mr. Alan Kyerematen, for was been nurtured from home.
Otumfuo however blessed him and reminded him that his other contestants could visit Manhyia and for that matter, urged them to commit their will and what they can do and wanted to do in the hands of God, for he is the chooses and select a king for his direction.
He cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to consider a personality that Ghanaians would be accepted because the person after the primaries and the general elections is going to serve all Ghanaians as a whole and not NPP alone.
