Several communities in parts of the Ashanti Region are currently experiencing power outages following ongoing technical works at the Edwinase Substation by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
According to an update from the power distributor, the entire Edwinase Substation has been shut down temporarily to allow for the installation of 33KV panels on Section 2 at the Main OH facility.
The exercise forms part of efforts to improve power distribution and enhance the reliability of electricity supply within the affected operational zones.
Areas currently affected by the outage include communities under the Apire, Yabi, Tekyiman, and Ohwimase feeders.
Under the Apire feeder, communities affected include Dako, Adumasa, Apire, Heman, Bebu, and surrounding areas.
The Yabi feeder outage is impacting Kromoase, Akyeremade, Dida, Akosomo, Apemanim Kokoben, and nearby communities.
Residents in Hill Top, Denkyemuoso, Tekyiman, and adjoining areas under the Tekyiman feeder are also without power.
Meanwhile, the Ohwimase feeder has affected electricity supply to Patase, Police Depot, Mango Down, and surrounding communities.
ECG has appealed to customers in the affected areas to exercise patience as engineers work to complete the installation works and restore power supply as soon as possible.
