John Dramani Mahama, former president of the republic has interacted with accident victims at Frante,a farming community in the Ejura constituency in the Ashanti region.
These were some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who died on Saturday 21st November,2020 when a cargo truck on which they were travelling to a mini-rally at Ejura was involved in an accident on Frante-Ejura road.
Five persons died instantly leaving others in critical condition.
Others sustained various degrees of injury and received treatment at the Ejura Government Hospital.
Mr. John Dramani Mahama, Presidential Candidate of the NDC, Professor Nana Jane Opoku Agyemang running mate , Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the National Chairman, Prof Joshua Alabi,who was the National Campaign Manager, and Mr Augustus Nana Kwasi Andrews, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Party,led the delegation to interact with the injured persons today.
At the event ,Mr.Yakubu Adam ,one of the victims who spoke on their behalf told president Mahama that inspite of his disabilities he will still continue to work with the NDC.
He appealed to president Mahama to create some fund to keep them alive .
He also appealed to president Mahama to help construct health center in the community to cater for the health needs of the people.
Speaking on behalf of the President,Mr.Ofosu Ampofo said,all victims will be provided with artificial assistance to aide them walk and do other psychomotor activities.
He donated Ghc 50,000 to the victims for their wellbeing
