In response to the recent tribal conflicts in Nkwanta, Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Kini, the Member of Parliament for Nkwanta South, and the Oti Regional NADMO officer have joined forces to provide relief to affected communities. Their collaborative effort has resulted in a donation of 500 bags of rice and other essential items to support those displaced by the clashes. This aid aims to alleviate the immediate challenges faced by residents, many of whom are unable to access their farms and secure food for their families.
During an interview with TV XYZ News, Hon. Geoffrey Kini addressed the situation, firmly rejecting claims that the change in government was a factor in the disturbances. He urged the public to disregard any such allegations, emphasizing their falsehood. Furthermore, he appealed to all tribal groups to embrace peace, lamenting the setbacks the conflict has caused to the development of the Nkwanta South Municipal. He called for unity and reconciliation to foster progress in the Oti Region and Nkwanta South.
Adding to the sentiments of support, Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi, the Municipal Chief Executive for Nkwanta South, expressed his gratitude to the MP and the Oti Regional NADMO for their assistance. He echoed the call for peace, urging the affected tribes to prioritize the restoration of harmony and development in Nkwanta South. He emphasized the importance of creating a better future for the community through cooperation and understanding.
