Sachets water factory commissioned for military Central Command, Headquarters

Sachets water factory has been commissioned at the Military command Headquarters to bring some sigh of relief towards frequent supply of water for the command.
Brigadier General Joseph Aduko Aphour, (General Officer Commanding, Central Command) at the commissioning which coincided with their 2022 End of Year WASSA of Headquarters Central Command explained that, Water they say is life ,but the narrative was not so at the Command Headquarters some years back.
He stated that, an essential commodity such as water was very scarce at the Headquarters, as their taps were not flowing and life at the Command Headquarters and Idris Barracks was extremely unbearable, imagine life without adequate potable water to carry out their domestic chores.
According to him, its his tenure of office that saw a massive rehabilitation of the overhead tank just close to the 20- bed accommodation project to enable them get potable water all the time, which he said has been his most cherished of all his achievements.
He disclosed that, he took over the Command Headquarters that has little or no avenue for generation of funds internally, adding that, his predecessors did well by starting the construction of a sachets water factory to assist in that regard, which he has completed and provided the necessary equipment for production of water to commence and and purchased a KIA truck to aid the supply of sachets water to potential customers.
He said he took over a Command Headquarters that was bereft of potable water, better accommodation for troops and their families, reliable avenue for generating income for the day-to-day running of the Headquarters, proper sewage systems, through his initiative and support from staff officers l, soldiers and philanthropists he was able to start a 20-bed accommodation project for troops which is currently at an advance state of completion.
According to him, he realized that, most of his troops were making-do with makeshift structures infested with serpents, rodents and alike, which he found to be totally dehumanizing and therefore sought to alleviate their suffering by using his good office to solicit for funds from well meaning Ghanaians to construct a befitting accommodation for troops and therespectively.
He underscored that, his tenure of office has also recorded rapid renovation of infrastructures at Idris Barracks as well as Complex Barracks, Brigade Quarters to be precise, which he said include renovation works on Burnt Quarters at Brigade Quarters, Officers’ Transit Quarters at Idris Barracks, Quarter Guard, Western Gate, Unit Armoury and Top Spear’s Lodge (his residence) in addition to sinking of borehole at the Top Spear’s Lodge.
He commended the Chief of the Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama and Chief of the Army Staff, Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah for supporting the Command in renovating the Burnt Quarters and Officers’ Transit Quarters respectively.
