Some chiefs and opinion leaders in the Suame municipality in the Ashanti Region have appealed to the President for the immediate removal of their Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Maxwell Ofosu from office.

The chiefs, from various communities within the Suame municipality in a press conference led by the Kyidomhene of Kronum traditional area, Nana Yaw Acheampong, expressed their displeasure in how things have been mismanaged under the leadership of Hon. Maxwell Ofosu in the past 3 years.

They made mentioned of how Hon. Maxwell Ofosu, has been disregarding and ignoring every attempt made by them, Nananom, to reaching out to him to help address issues bothering their various communities.

However, every attempt made since the MCE came into office has not materialized and has resulted in creating a huge gap between Nananom and the current MCE.

In addition, the chiefs pointed out to some major projects within their respective communities that have been abandoned and are left under the mercy of the weather. They cited for example a community clinic facility which was started and completed buy the former MCE, Hon John Osei Bobie, his predecessor at the Kwapra township but yet to be commissioned under this new administration headed by Hon. Maxwell Ofosu. Again, various 12 unit classroom blocks scattered across various communities which were all started by his Predecessor, Hon. Jonh Osei Bobie, have not been attended to, or, are being falsely captured in the Suame municipal assembly’s annual action plan as completed projects.

Among other things, the chiefs showed infallible proofs that Hon. Maxwell Ofosu deserves to be taken off his position as the Municipal Chief Executive of the Suame municipal assembly in the Ashanti region. They have therefore appealed to the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, and the Ashanti regional minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, to take off Hon. Maxwell Ofosu as the MCE for Suame.

They concluded by also advising all delegtes in the Suame constituency to think through before casting their votes in favour of Hon. Maxwell Ofosu, because they, the chiefs have noted that he will be contesting in the impending NPP Parliamentary election primaries in the Suame constituency.

“We Nananom, are not pleased and will never be pleased with such a candidate who has done and continue to do such a great deservice to the Suame Municipality as our Member of Parliament(MP),” They stated.

Some of the community members and opinion leaders also threw their support to what the chiefs had stated, as they bemoaned the lack of developmental projects in their various communities perpetrated by their current Municipal Chief Executive(MCE), Hon. Maxwell Ofosu.
