The Tamale Technical University branch of the Dagbon Student’s Association in collaboration with Hyperlink Entertainment has launched a maiden DASA Excellence Awards and Miss DASA.
The Excellence Awards according to the Dagomba chief of the University, Naa Nurudeen Ibrahim is aimed to recognise the efforts of outstanding Students who are members of the Association and the Gbewaa-zulya at the University and the Tamale Technical Institute.
“Students of today are involved in all kind of social vices at schools such as blenching, drug abuse and not performing academically, this awards schame is organized to improve learning, guide and instill discipline in students whilst in school, we believe this schame will cause the change we all want, it’s also a way of motivating them to tighten their belt”. He told journalists at the DASA palace.
Chief Nurudeen admonished stakeholders in schools to device strategies that would curb Students from immoral behavior, instead of the usual advises.
He further appealed to individuals and opinion leaders in society to support the initiatives, revealing that winners will receive prizes including citations and plaque.
According to him, nomination for the awards is open for interested persons and will close on 24th June, 2023.
