The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) headed by Dr Andy O. OKrah (CEO) is set to convene key players in Ghana’s oil palm value chain at the National Oil Palm Multi-Stakeholder Roundtable Forum on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, as part of efforts to reposition the country’s oil palm industry for sustainable growth and increased competitiveness.
The high-level forum, scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Chartered Institute of Bankers Hall, East Legon, Accra, is expected to bring together policymakers, industry players, financial institutions, development partners, investors, processors, farmers, researchers and other stakeholders to deliberate on practical strategies for transforming Ghana’s oil palm sector.
The event will be held under the theme: “From Policy to Practice: The Role of TCDA in Resetting Ghana’s Oil Palm Industry.”
According to the organisers, the roundtable will provide a platform for stakeholders to assess the current state of the industry, discuss policy implementation challenges and identify innovative solutions capable of unlocking the enormous economic potential of Ghana’s oil palm sector.
The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening the regulatory framework, enhancing productivity, attracting private sector investment, improving value addition, expanding market access and promoting sustainable production practices.
The forum also seeks to deepen collaboration among government institutions, financial organisations, development agencies and private sector operators to accelerate the implementation of policies that will drive growth across the oil palm value chain.
As the statutory regulator of Ghana’s tree crops sector, the Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) continues to spearhead initiatives aimed at developing commercially viable and globally competitive tree crop industries, with oil palm identified as one of the country’s priority economic crops.
The Authority believes the forum will serve as an important milestone in translating policy objectives into concrete actions that will enhance employment creation, boost exports, strengthen food security and improve livelihoods for thousands of farmers engaged in oil palm production.
The event is expected to attract representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, development partners including the World Bank, Solidaridad, the Development Bank Ghana (DBG), the Oil Palm Research Institute (OPRI) and other key institutions supporting agricultural transformation in Ghana.
Organisers say the collective expertise and experience of participants will help shape actionable recommendations for building a resilient, inclusive and sustainable oil palm industry capable of contributing significantly to Ghana’s economic development.
The National Oil Palm Multi-Stakeholder Roundtable Forum forms part of TCDA’s broader commitment to promoting dialogue, strengthening stakeholder partnerships and ensuring that government policies are effectively translated into measurable outcomes that benefit the entire oil palm value chain.
