Information available to The Punch Newspaper indicates that, former Municipal Chief Executive for Oforikrom in the Ashanti Region,Mrs. Gloria Gambrah is now occupying the official residence, office and vehicle of the deputy Ashanti Regional Minister.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his second term of office directed that his administration will not appoint any deputy regional ministers and that their official vehicles and residence are expected to be handed over to the government but that seems to be failing.
Apart from giving back the vehicles and residences to top government officials, sources available alleged that some party members are enjoying the deputy regional ministers’ official residence, offices and vehicles of which the case of Ashanti Region is of no exception.
The source filtered from the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council further suggested that the former MCE of Oforikrom is working 24/7 in the deputy minister’s office but it’s still not clear of the position the MCE holds and qualifies her to occupy that office.
An insider revealed that the former MCE, Madam Gloria Gambrah has suddenly become the Special Assistant to Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah.
But as to who will pay the MCE, we hardly tell and we are still struggling to establish whether the president is secretly appointing deputy regional ministers through the back door.
