I’ll not tolerate shoddy works-Kumasi Mayor Cautions

Kumasi Mayor, Hon Samuel Pyne says his administration will not tolerate shoddy works from contractors hired by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.

He noted that the Assembly and the people of Kumasi deserved the best from people they hire to work for them.

Speaking during three ground breaking ceremonies on Friday for the construction of six classroom blocks for Adumanu MA Basic, Adoato MA Basic and African Faith Basic at Kegyase, Hon Pyne said his administration wants value for money.

“The Assembly is hard pressed for funds to complete all projects it has earmarked for the year and others in subsequent years and so I will demand quality work from all contractors working on projects assigned to them”, the Mayor intimated.

COMMITMENT:
The Mayor expressed his commitment to lead the Assembly to complete all projects started before him.

He also pledged to ensure projects it has earmarked to undertake are carried through and completed for the benefit of the people of Kumasi.

The Mayor revealed that he was seeking for sponsorship to complete all school infrastructure as well as market projects that are yet to be completed so that it can be made available for use.

“As Mayor my commitment is to look for support or sponsorship outside the Assembly to ensure that we complete projects we have committed to undertake”, Hon Pyne stated.

APPRECIATION:
Nana Kwame Frimpong Akowuah, Chief of Adumanu thanked the KMA boss and staff for the school project.

He also appealed to the Mayor and the Assembly to complete a 3unit classroom project the PTA of the school started.

Nana Akowuah also asked the Assembly to construct a fence around the school project so that it can ward off encroachers and thieves.

ASSEMBLY MAN:
Hon I.K Acheampong,  elected assembly member for Adoato-Adumanu commended the Assembly for the project in his community.

He also praised the Mayor for prioritising education and social empowerment projects since assuming office.
