The Asokwa Municipal Assembly has joined the rest of the country in observing this year’s National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to promoting peace, unity and national development through faith and collective responsibility.

The observance brought together Christians and Muslims, alongside traditional authorities, government officials and residents, who offered prayers of thanksgiving for God’s blessings on the nation and sought divine guidance for Ghana’s continued peace, stability and prosperity.
Leading the municipality’s participation was the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Amo Kamel, who joined the interfaith gathering in a demonstration of the Assembly’s support for the national initiative aimed at fostering unity among Ghanaians regardless of their religious backgrounds.

The Christian and Muslim prayer sessions were marked by messages of hope, reconciliation and patriotism, with participants calling on citizens to uphold values that would strengthen national cohesion and accelerate development.
The Assembly expressed appreciation to the religious leaders, traditional authorities, public officials and residents whose participation contributed to the successful observance of the event.
It said the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving remained an important platform for promoting harmony, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, while encouraging citizens to work together towards the country’s development.
The Assembly further expressed the hope that the prayers offered would continue to inspire peace, unity and prosperity in the Asokwa Municipality and across the country.
The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving is observed annually to unite Ghanaians of all faiths in giving thanks for the nation’s blessings and seeking God’s guidance for its future.
