The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has paid over 3.3 billion cedis to more than 257,000 retirees in the first half of 2025, according to Director General Kwesi Alfreh Biney.
Speaking at the 2025 Pensioners Engagement event in Kumasi on July 24, Biney emphasized that this substantial payment showcases SSNIT’s strength as a state institution.
Mr Biney reassured pensioners that SSNIT is committed to making their lives easier, prioritizing timely pension payments. In 2024, SSNIT paid a total of 5.8 billion cedis to retirees.
His administration plans to implement pragmatic policies focused on enhancing pensioners’ lives, viewing them as valued customers who deserve a dignified life .
