In a powerful speech delivered today, Dr. Nana Agyenim Boateng, President of Concerned Youth of Asante, voiced the organization’s strong opposition to a planned demonstration against Igbo individuals in Ghana .

Addressing fellow Ghanaians and members of the media, Dr. Nana Agyenim Boateng emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and unity within the country’s diverse communities .

Dr. Boateng proudly highlighted Asanteman’s longstanding tradition of hospitality, noting that the region has always been a beacon of warmth and acceptance for foreigners . “Asanteman has always been a beacon of hospitality, welcoming foreigners and treating them with kindness,” he stated. This cultural ethos, he argued, makes the proposed anti-Igbo demonstration not only unnecessary but also unwelcome in Ghana.

The Concerned Youth of Asante President made it clear that the presence of Igbo individuals in Ghana is not an issue that warrants such a demonstration. “Let me be clear: the presence of Igbo individuals in Ghana is not an issue. We respect their roles in our communities,” Dr. Boateng asserted. He urged Ghanaians to reject any form of hatred or division that could arise from such targeting .

Instead of focusing on divisive actions against any particular group, Dr. Boateng called on the government to prioritize strengthening the country’s borders . “Instead of targeting our Igbo neighbors, I urge our government to focus on strengthening our borders to prevent malicious individuals from entering our country,” he advised. This approach, he suggested, would enhance national security while promoting internal peace.

Acknowledging Ghana’s reputation for hospitality, Dr. Boateng reiterated that Ghanaians are known for welcoming foreigners with open hearts .

However, he also took the opportunity to advise all foreigners residing in Ghana to abide by the country’s laws. By doing so, they can contribute positively to their communities and live in harmony with Ghanaian citizens .

In concluding his speech, Dr. Nana Agyenim Boateng reaffirmed Concerned Youth of Asante’s commitment to promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among all residents in Ghana.

“In conclusion, Concerned Youth of Asante stands firm in promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among all residents in Ghana. Let us reject hatred and division, embracing our shared humanity instead,” he declared, ending his address with a call for collective action towards a more harmonious society .

This strong stance by Concerned Youth of Asante underscores the organization’s dedication to fostering a peaceful and inclusive environment for all individuals living in Ghana .
