The chief of Bomeng in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Kwarteng Agyakumhene II, has urged queenmothers to utilize their influential positions to tackle pressing issues affecting the youth, particularly teenage pregnancy and drug abuse.
Nana Kwarteng Agyakumhene II emphasized the crucial role queenmothers play in shaping the community’s values and addressing social problems.
The chief swore in Nana Abenaa Nantakyiwaa as Bomenhemaa Kontire Obaapanii and Nana Abenaa Akyamaa as Bomenhemaa Gyaase Obaapanii, charging them to serve their subjects with humility and integrity.
The queenmothers were advised to be loyal to the chief, elders, and people of Bomeng, and to prioritize the welfare of their subjects.
The chief’s call highlights the growing concern about teenage pregnancy and drug abuse in Ghanaian communities. By empowering queenmothers to take an active role in addressing these issues, the Bomeng community aims to create a safer and more supportive environment for its youth .
