The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has sworn in new executives for its Ashanti Regional chapter for a three-year mandate.
The ceremony, held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, saw the inauguration of Chairman Kofi Adu Domfe, Vice Chairman Nicholas Osei-Wusu, Secretary Beatrice Spio-Gabra, and Regional Treasurer Dr. Neta Kris Abiana Parsram.
GJA National President Albert Dwumfour, who led the swearing-in ceremony, charged the new executives to work together, amplify the voices of the marginalized, unite the association’s base in the region, and improve its members. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in advancing the interests of journalists in the region.
The newly sworn-in Chairman, Kofi Adu Domfe, expressed gratitude to the association for the confidence reposed in them. He pledged to chart a path of unity, inclusivity, and progress for the association, ensuring that the interests of all members are represented and protected.
The event drew a diverse range of dignitaries, including journalists, representatives from the police, MTN Ghana, Electricity Company of Ghana, Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, and other state departments and agencies.
With their new mandate, the executives are expected to drive the association’s agenda in the region, promoting the welfare of journalists and upholding the principles of professional journalism.
