The Sekyere Kontonkyi Calvary Methodist Church Child and Youth Development Center, in partnership with Compassion International Ghana, yesterday celebrated a decade of transforming lives with the theme “Thriving: Focusing on the Center’s Role to Shape the Leaders of Tomorrow”.
Speaking at the event ,Madam Anita Effah, Project Director for Compassion International Ghana, revealed the initiative has supported more than 250 children, providing access to quality education, healthcare, and mentorship opportunities.
At the event,local leaders commended the efforts, with Hon. Akwasi Amankwah, District Chief Executive for Sekyere Kumawu, pledging government support. Hon. Alex Antwi, Assembly Member for Sekyere Kontonkyi, praised Compassion International Ghana’s intervention as a beacon of hope.
Nana Osei Owusu Ababio, Chief Linguist of Sekyere Kontonkyi, urged children to leverage benefits for responsible leadership and community development, stressing discipline and commitment.
Compassion International Ghana partners with local churches to support children in poverty, focusing on spiritual growth, education, health, and livelihood support. Their programs aim to empower children to break free from poverty and thrive.
This milestone underscores the organization’s commitment to shaping future leaders and fostering community development in Sekyere Kontonkyi and beyond .
