The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of provisional results for candidates who sat for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates in 2025.

According to a press release issued by WAEC, a total of 461,736 candidates, comprising 207,415 males and 254,321 females, registered for the examination across Ghana.

The results are available online, and candidates can access their individual results through the WAEC website at www.waecgh.org. WAEC cautioned stakeholders against fraudsters who may promise to upgrade results for a fee, emphasizing that all results are secure and can be authenticated using the Council’s results verification system.

Performance statistics indicate that 1,021 candidates were absent from the examination, representing 1.26% of the total registered candidates, which stood at 461,736. This reflects a marginal increase of 0.24% compared to the 2024 entry figure of 460,611.

The press release highlights that the performance of candidates in the four Core Subjects will be detailed in accompanying tables, though these specifics are not visible in the released document screenshot.

WAEC advises candidates and stakeholders to access the official website for accurate and up-to-date information regarding the results. The Council did not release details on overall pass rates or distinctions in particular subjects in the initial announcement, urging interested parties to consult the published tables for insights into candidate performance in Core Subjects.

The release of the 2025 WASSCE results comes as a significant milestone for candidates awaiting outcomes that will determine their progression to tertiary education and other post-secondary opportunities in Ghana and across West Africa.

WAEC remains committed to conducting examinations with integrity and providing reliable assessment services in the West African sub-region.
