Acheamfour Group Of Companies together with the Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly in the Ashanti region have commissioned an ultra modern market facility at Afrancho ,a community in the district to aid buying and selling in the area.
The market was also furnished with a bus terminal which according to the Assembly will help traders to travel safe from and to their various destinations.
Speaking at the colourful ceremony last Friday,Dr. Kwabena Baah Acheamfour, Managing Director of the Acheamfour Group of Companies, indicated that if given the chance, his company would construct more of the facility across the Country to ensure healthy environments, as well as beautify the city.
According to him,he thought of building more satellite markets in the Country, especially in the Ashanti region because trading is God’s given talent and the divine gift of ‘Asanteman’.
Adding that, though sons and daughters of ‘Ashantis’ may receive formal education but the spirit of buying and selling still dwells in them as natives of ‘Asanteman’.
He said, through God’s words ,Acheamfour group of companies is determined to build well furnished markets for their able traders to have a safer place to do business.
He announced that, the Afrancho market was nearly abandoned but through the hard work of Hon.Adu Poku Christian,DCE for the area, the market has now been opened to traders for use.
According to him,the Afrancho market has more than two thousand stores and is ready to habour more than two thousand traders.
He hinted ,plans were far advanced to ensure that traders who have no money are giving the stores and later pay on installment.
Speaking at the event,Hon.Adu-Poku Christian encouraged traders to fill the market in their numbers and pledged to ensure that lives and properties are protected in the market.
According to him, task force would be provided to ensure that ‘trotro’ drivers have no room to operate in the area.
He was of the view that ,a permanent bus terminal has been provided for commercial drivers to operate in ,this according will help reduce the high rate of hook-up that has engulfed the Kronum-Afrancho-Buoho highways.
Again, when traders board commercial cars at the bus terminal ,and mistakenly leave their items in the said car, their items would be retrieved the next morning because they patronized a stationed car but with the ‘trotro’, because they are not stationed, traders may not have that opportunity of retrieving their lost items.
He however called on traders to ensure good use of the facility so as to last long for them.
