Dr. Charles Dwamena, a leading contender for the General Secretary position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has extended warm Ramadan greetings to Muslims across Ghana and beyond, describing the sacred period as a season of reflection, sacrifice, spiritual renewal, and national unity.

In a message marking the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, Dr. Dwamena prayed for peace, success, and abundant blessings for all who are observing the fast.
“Warm wishes as Ramadan begins. May this Holy Month bring peace, success and blessings,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of faith, compassion, and discipline during the period.
Dr. Dwamena, who currently serves as the National Treasurer of the NPP, noted that Ramadan offers a profound opportunity for spiritual introspection and a renewed commitment to core values that transcend religious boundaries. According to him, principles such as self-discipline, sacrifice, integrity, compassion, and service to others are not only central to the observance of Ramadan but are equally vital in political leadership and effective party organization.
He stressed that Ghana’s strength lies in its religious tolerance and unity, adding that the holy month presents an opportunity for all citizens—regardless of political or religious affiliation—to recommit themselves to peace and national cohesion.
“Ramadan reminds us of the need for humility in leadership and empathy in service. These are qualities that must guide our political discourse and organizational efforts as a party and as a nation,” he indicated.
Beyond his goodwill message, Dr. Dwamena used the occasion to engage party delegates and supporters nationwide, rallying them behind his candidacy for the General Secretary position of the NPP. He called on party faithful to unite in support of what he described as a forward-looking vision aimed at strengthening the party’s internal structures and enhancing operational efficiency at the secretariat.
He outlined his commitment to improving communication within the party hierarchy, reinforcing grassroots engagement, and ensuring that the NPP remains responsive to the needs and aspirations of its members across all regions.
According to him, effective and visionary leadership at the party’s secretariat will be instrumental in repositioning the NPP for future electoral success. He argued that a well-organized and energized base is crucial for sustaining the party’s long-standing tradition of democratic governance and development-oriented policies.
Dr. Dwamena further emphasized that unity within the party will be a decisive factor in navigating upcoming political challenges and consolidating the gains made over the years. He expressed confidence that with collective effort and strategic leadership, the NPP can emerge stronger and more cohesive.
As Muslims across the country begin their month-long fast, Dr. Dwamena reaffirmed his commitment to inclusivity, peace, and service-driven leadership, urging all Ghanaians to use the sacred season to pray for the nation’s stability, prosperity, and continued democratic growth.
His message comes at a time when political activities are gradually intensifying within the NPP, with key positions expected to shape the party’s direction in the years ahead. Observers say his outreach during Ramadan reflects both a gesture of solidarity with the Muslim community and a strategic engagement with the party’s diverse support base as the race for General Secretary gathers momentum.
