The Chief of Staff, Chief Julius Debrah, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive and community-driven development through his participation in the installation ceremony of the Central Regional Chairman as Development Chief at Agona Kwanyako in the Central Region.
His presence at the traditional ceremony was widely viewed as more than a symbolic gesture, reflecting the administration’s deliberate effort to strengthen collaboration between the Presidency and traditional leadership structures across the country.
Observers noted that the event underscored the importance the government places on engaging chiefs and local authorities as key partners in national development.
By participating in the ceremony, the Chief of Staff demonstrated the administration’s recognition of the critical role traditional institutions continue to play in community mobilisation, social cohesion, and grassroots development.
The ceremony also highlighted what many described as a governance approach rooted in respect, consultation, and partnership. Rather than imposing policies from the centre, the government signalled its intention to work closely with local leaders who command the trust and confidence of their communities.
Addressing attendees, speakers at the event praised the growing cooperation between state institutions and traditional authorities, describing it as essential for achieving sustainable development and strengthening local governance structures.
The occasion brought together traditional rulers, political figures, community leaders, and residents, all united in celebrating a shared vision of progress for Agona Kwanyako and the wider Central Region.
Political analysts say the Chief of Staff’s participation reflects a broader leadership style that values humility, cultural identity, and community engagement as vital components of national development under the administration of President John Dramani Mahama.
