The Tree Crops Development Authority (TCDA) ,headed by Dr Andy Okrah has thrown its weight behind the Government’s two-day National Flood Aftermath Clean-up Exercise, calling on its staff and the public to actively participate in the nationwide sanitation campaign aimed at restoring cleanliness in flood-affected communities.
In a public notice, the Authority announced that it would take part in the exercise scheduled for Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11, 2026, in line with the Government’s directive to mobilise state institutions and citizens to clear drains, remove refuse and improve environmental sanitation following recent floods.
The exercise forms part of a broader national effort to minimise the risk of disease outbreaks and prevent future flooding by ensuring that drainage systems and public spaces are free from waste and debris.
The Authority encouraged members of staff, stakeholders and residents to assemble at its head office located on Tsatse Dzani Street, Adjiringanor (GPS Address: GD-253-5536), as well as at all its zonal offices across the country to participate in the clean-up activities.
According to the TCDA, maintaining clean surroundings is a shared responsibility that requires the commitment of every individual and institution. It stressed that environmental sanitation remains critical to safeguarding public health, protecting lives and promoting sustainable national development.
The Authority further urged participants to come equipped with the necessary cleaning tools and observe safety measures throughout the exercise.
The TCDA’s participation aligns with the Government’s nationwide campaign to encourage public institutions, private organisations and communities to work together in restoring the environment after the recent flooding incidents.
The Authority expressed confidence that the collective efforts of citizens would not only improve sanitation but also strengthen public awareness of proper waste management and environmental protection.
It appealed to Ghanaians to support the initiative wholeheartedly, emphasising that sustained cleanliness and responsible waste disposal are essential to preventing future environmental disasters and building healthier communities.
