A senior journalist in Kumasi by name Mr. Kofi Adade, formerly of Fox fm and currently working with Oyerepa fm also in Kumasi who is aspiring to be an assembly member for Dadease electoral area in the Sekyere-Kumawu district in the Ashanti Region is much worried about past and present governments’ neglect of the basic schools in the Country. According to him, our brothers and sisters in the senior high schools are enjoying from the cofers of the government of the day leaving those at the Junior High and primary schools unattended to. Mr. Kofi Adade questioned as to why government always support the SHS with infrastructural development, given them quality education and to the extent of going to school for free. He added that, we have stakeholders, NGOs, old students Associations and the likes supporting the senior high schools yet government continues to support them. He questioned as to why such equal opportunities are not benefiting those in the basic schools , right from crèche, kindergarten, lower and upper primary. He however promised to secure funds through the support of the community to build teachers’ quarters for salvation army school , Dadease D/A Primary, JHS and SDA school when given the nod in the yet to be organized assembly members elections in the country . Mr. Kofi Adade has over the years contributed his quota towards the development of Dadeaseman and Sekyere-Kumawu district at large. He made this known when he donated pens, pencils and mathematical instruments to BECE candidates in his electoral area and also provided coconut seedlings to the schools for fencing. Receiving the seedlings, Mr. Paul Agyeman,A.K.A Nana Kooko,Headmaster of Dadease D/A lauded the ace journalist for his enormous contributions towards the development of schools in the area.
