THE KUMASI Press Center building is currently in a deplorable state after the NDC government left power barely six years ago.
The one-storey building which is at the roofing level was started by Hon.Eric Opoku, the then Ashanti Regional Minister in former John Dramani Mahama’s administration  has been abandoned since NDC Left power in 2016.
The years of neglect is now having a huge toll on the dilapidated building.
Journalists in the Ashanti Region have raised more concern as to why the incumbent Ashanti Regional Minister,Mr.Simon Osei Mensah is not paying attention to such a project or is it because it was started by the NDC government that’s why it has been neglected.
Press1News visited the building site at Denyame on Sunday afternoon.
The entire building structure was looking very weak and discoloured.
Sadly, parts of the building, especially the upper part, had developed deep cracks.
Weeds have also taken over most parts of the compound, a clear sign of neglect.
Some unknown people were also keeping firewood on the compound.
The press center was started by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
The project was meant to help improve media work in the Ashanti Region.
But the building was abandoned when the NDC left political office in 2016.
